I was finally able to upload the video recording on Sunday's (July 1 - Proper 8) Sermon.
It is based on the Gospel reading where Jairus, a leader of the community, begs Jesus to help his daughter (who is near to death). Living out the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus is not too busy to help. While Jesus is en route, a woman - untouchable, poor, powerless, and devastated by an illness that has lasted over a decade - dares to reach out and touch Jesus. Jesus is not too busy to stop. The woman is restored to health of body and soul, and to the community. During this delay we learn the little girl dies, but no one is beyond God's grace or Jesus' healing touch. He restores her to life, health, and to her family. "Now feed her," he says. And so we continue Christ's compassionate ministry by going where we're needed, stopping when we must, and feeding those God restores.
